My Salutations to all Divine Souls ..... On the auspicious occasion of Gurupoornima, the dream that our ancestors had seen, the goal our ancestors had set for us; our ancestors had given us a vision of the future universe -THE WORLD IS ONE FAMILY (Vasudaiva Kutumbakam). Today if we once again try to remember the idea of 'Vasudaiva Kutumbakam', if we once again try to think about it from a new aspect, from a new point of view, from a new amplitude, then that will be our 'Gift' (Gurudakshina) to the ancient Gurus in the true sense. 'Vasudaiva Kutumbakam' means that the entire universe, each person who lives in the universe, is a part of it. They had envisaged that the entire universe would be like a large family. How can this vision be realised? They had also given a method, a path together with whatever thoughts, and with whatever vision they had given to fulfill what they had envisaged. Today we will ponder on what those paths are, what those methods are and how they can be fulfilled, and whether they can be fulfilled! First of all we will think about whether there is any deity, any form of Paramatma, which is known to every human in the universe. There is no such deity in whom every human in the world believes. What does that mean? It means that if we think, if we believe that the entire world will become a family through one deity, then that's not possible. One person believes in one deity, another person believes in some other deity; different people believe in different deities in the same family too. This means that we can't achieve this goal through the medium of one deity, through the target of believing in any one deity, by worshipping only one deity, because there is no deity in the world in whom every person in the world believes. Therefore this is not possible through the medium of one deity. Secondly, there is the method of worship -that which we call religion in colloquial language. There is no such method of worship in which everyone believes or through which everyone performs worship. Everyone believes in the existence of Paramatma. Paramatma has different forms; everyone believes in his existence, but they believe in Him through different mediums , through different forms. Similarly, the way to attain Paramatma and the methods of worship to reach upto Paramatma are different. One person adopts one path, another adopts another path. Thus there are several methods of worship . Just as there are several deities, there are several methods of worship too . Since there are several deities, the feeling of Universal Brotherhood, of Vasudaiva Kutumbakam cannot be fulfilled through the medium of any one deity. It cannot be fulfilled through any one method of worship, through the medium of any one religion, which you call religion. Actually there is only one religion -the religion of humanity -and all the rest are methods of worship. Thus this idea of Vasudaiva Kutumbakam cannot be fulfilled through any method of worship. Secondly, this cannot be done even by imposing a method of worship. If you force someone to follow the same method of worship that you are practising, that they should attain Paramatma by following this method, that is called an imposition. This can't succeed even by imposing it. This can't happen because whatever you impose will be external; it can't lead to any internal change. There won't be any change from within. This is similar to admitting a patient to a hospital; and after that the doctor removes his white clothes and makes him wear yellow clothes, but his stomach pain will still not be cured. He removes his yellow clothes and makes him wear green clothes; even then his stomach pain will not be cured. He changes the green clothes to blue clothes, but the stomach pain will still not be cured. This means that he will have to be given medicines for the stomach pain if he has to get rid of the stomach pain. Something will have to be given internally as the pain can't be cured by changing his clothes externally. Similarly, if you are thirsty at the soul level, if you wish to attain Liberation (moksha), you won't be able to achieve anything by changing your religion or by changing your method of worship. You will have to do something inside for that, something internally for that, something within yourself. As long as something does not happen internally, as long as there is no change from inside, no matter how many clothes you change, how many different coloured clothes you wear, it won't make any difference. Thus it cannot happen through methods of worship, it cannot happen through the deity. it can't happen even through language. There are several languages in the world. and there are several countries. Just as there are several deities, several methods of worship, there are several languages; one person's language is not understood by another person. Different languages are spoken in different provinces. When man has different deities, when the methods of worship followed by man are different, man has different languages, how can one imagine the 'World as one Family'? The language of one person is not understood by another person. Thus it is not possible even through the medium of language. There is no language in the world, no such language which all the people in the world know, which is understood by all the people in the world; and there is no authority in the world which can get the sanction of the whole world. Therefore this is not possible even through the medium of authority; and does any orie authority exist any more? Multi-factional power has been established. Thus this cannot happen through the medium of deities, it cannot happen through the medium of methods of worship, it cannot happen through the medium of language, it cannot happen through authority. it can't be imposed -if we look at it from such a point of view. it leads to a feeling of hopelessness that this can never happen. There seems to be no path, there appears to be no way through which the idea of 'Vasudaiva Kutumbakam' that the whole world will become one family can be realised! It appears that this just can't happen; it isn't possible at all! But this appears to be so when we don't exist in present time, when we are not in the present. Right now we are not aware of what is happening near us, what is taking place around us. If you look around you and try to find out, you'll realise that this is not just imagination; but it is taking shape. The civilizations of the age are changing, a revolution is taking place in the age, and the beginning for this required change was made by Saint Gnyaneshwar. He had told us 800 years ago that this age would arrive, he had informed us about the idea of this age; Saint Gnyaneshwar had expressed his thoughts to us 800 years back! That after 800 years, such an age will arrive, such a transformation of the age will take place, in which the whole world will become one family, and the idea of a Universal Family will come true. He had upheld this idea of a 'Universal Family'. But he had also indicated its path -the form in which it would arrive, the language through which it would happen, the religion through which it would arrive, through which method of worship it would arrive, and through which authority it would arrive. He had not stated it clearly, but he had only given an indication because the time was not right for it. He had said -a Shakti named Kundalini resides in your body, it resides in each and every human; it is present in a dormant state. As a result of being in a dormant state it deals with the interactions of your physical body, which are carried out through its medium. But after it comes into the proximity of a self-realised Guru, he activates and makes your inner energies flow; he makes the energies which are within him flow inside you. Then after he makes them flow, the Shakti inside you is also awakened. After it is awakened, you slowly come to know about your dharma (duties) -you start getting knowledge about what you should do, what you shouldn't do; and you begin to have control over your chitta. Once you have control over your chitta, you automatically begin reach a meditative state. He had written all this 800 years ago, that this will happen, that such a time will come. Forget about the talk of 800 years and just inspect your own life! For example, I look at what my life was like 40 years back. The caste system which existed 40 years ago around me, in my country, is not apparent to such an extent. This is the change which has taken place. The religious fanaticism that I had seen in my childhood 40 years ago is not so apparent in present times. And I had never even heard in my childhood about 'all religions are the same' which is being heard at present. It has received public acceptance. No matter how much of a fanatic an individual is, he will never admit publicly that he is a fanatic. He'll talk about all religions being equal, that this is the demand of time; this is the need of the time! These people may have different feelings within, they may be thinking quite differently in their minds, but in public they'll talk about all religions being the same; they are forced to say it. They have to make a pretense of it, whether they feel that in their minds, or whether they don't feel it in their minds. Today they are doing it externally, but tomorrow they will do it with inner feeling. I am informing you about the transformation that has taken place in 40 years. A change, a transformation, a transformation of the age is slowly taking place; it will happen slowly. It happens at a very slow speed. It continues to happen slowly, slowly, slowly, slowly; and to decide whether this is happening or not, you will have to go to your earlier years. If you observe the period 40 years ago, 20 years ago, and compare it, you will become aware of this difference. This means that the change is taking place. It is happening slowly, very slowly. Slowly, slowly, slowly ...... This transformation is taking place for the idea of Vasudaiva Kutumbakam, the change is taking place; and the change is happening from one age to another age. Our life is in the connecting period between these two ages, our life is between the two. We are not aware of the previous period, and we are not aware of what is going to happen after that. Our life is the connecting period between them - the period between both the ages. Therefore we are neither on this side of the bridge, nor on the other side! We are in the middle. We are not aware of what will happen on the other side; we are not aware of what existed on this side; such is our state in the middle. A bridge was created 800 years ago. It happens, doesn't it? Bridges are constructed and it takes several years to construct them. Several labourers and several engineers are involved in it. Similarly, this spiritual bridge has been constructed, for which several sages (rishis), several ascetics, have dedicated their whole lives. They have prepared a mantra in the form of a bridge through their penance and devoted practice. This Gurumantra is not an ordinary mantra; it is not a simple mantra. It connects one place to another place, and conveys one soul to another soul. That is the karya of this bridge. Thus after creating the bridge, the Creators have sent me to perform the opening ceremony of the bridge. But I have not constructed the bridge. After the opening took place, it was possible for it to come to society, and has been opened for the people in society. Thus Samarpan meditation is the bridge which has reached your country from the Himalayas after 800 years of history, after 800 years of devoted practice, after 800 years of penance! It has not only reached your country but has spread all over the world, and the number of sadhaks is growing day by day. We have to cross this very bridge. In Samarpan meditation there is no distinction of race, no distinction of method of worship, no deity, no distinction of language, no authority. There is nothing external. All the obstacles we had encountered in connecting one human to another, in holding humans beings together as a family, have all been removed in Samarpan meditation. There is no language here, because the language which has been constructed in it, which is spoken in it, which can be heard and can be told in it, which can be felt; the language which every human in the world wishes to hear, to experience, which he wishes to speak and speaks, is the language of Vibrations! Connection between one soul and another! We often feel that this is known to us; it appears familiar because its language is similar to our language, it is the same. There is only one language of vibrations, and this language is understood by each and every human being in the world. Leave aside humans, it is understood by all the animals too! All the birds and animals can know it and they realise it. The gates of Samarpan meditation, the doors to this bridge are open for the entire human race. Any individual can cross over that bridge and can travel from one side to another. Samarpan meditation is the only organization in the world which is open for everyone. Any person can accept it, any person can give it; and just as there is no price for Paramatma's grace, this is similarly Paramatma's Prasad which has no price. It is distributed free of cost, everywhere in the world and it is growing. The doors of Samarpan meditation are open for each and every person; the Gurumantra of Samarpan meditation is for each and every person. Any individual who wishes to experience it and learn it can do so. There is no need to ,attend any Mega shibir for that; there is no need to go to any video shibir for that! There is no need to go to any centre for that, as you can obtain it on your own too. Today I am going to teach a process, a ceremony, to each person through the medium of this discourse; I am going to teach an experiment. Try out that experiment and see how he will obtain the anubhooti (experience), because the mantra has been established (siddha). A collectivity of millions of souls has connected with it. There's nothing to it; I did it today also! I practise it everyday, I practised it today also. Today also the sunrise took place at 5.45 am. You should try to experiment with it, try the experiment on others. They too will receive the anubhooti. Tell some male or female friend; tell him/her that I will tell you about an experiment which you can try out. It's simple -if the sunrise takes place at 5.45, you should sit facing the sun at 5.30. You just have to sit quietly; it will be good if you can sit after having a bath, otherwise sit just like that and look at the rising sun. Keep your chitta on it and chant the mantra -"Om Shree Shivkrupanand Swami nama namaha". Try out this experiment 15 minutes before sunrise and 15 minutes after sunrise. Chant the mantra during this half hour, Chant the mantra for 3 days and see for yourself what anubhooti you receive. You can see it for yourself because every day at sunrise I keep on praying to the Sun-God -'just as you reach each door of each house, and every house is brightened by your rays; I too wish to reach each house through the medium of the mantra. The sun has its limits; the limit of the sun is that it can enter only if the doors are open. I too am similarly helpless, I too have a limitation, I too have my limit -I am able to reach only those whose hearts are open (for me). In spirituality it is very important to open one's heart. As long as you keep your heart tied up in your race, tied up in language; as long as your heart is bound to your country, tied to your religion -all these are ties. As long as you are not free of them, as long as your doors are not open, the sun of spirituality can never enter your house. When the inner thirst for spirituality had arisen in me too, I had a wish. I desired that a living Guru should come into my life, and then I had kept my (photo) frame empty. There was no deity in that frame, there was no Guru in that frame, there was nothing. I had started walking forward with an empty frame and I was ready to accept Paramatma in any form. I had started out with such an open heart that I was ready to accept Him in whichever form I found Him no matter which country he belonged to, which race he belonged to, which religion he belonged to. Then when I walked with an open heart, the Guru's picture filled up my empty frame when my Guru helped me to get anubhooti. The place of Paramatma which existed in my heart, the place which was empty was filled up. The search for Paramatma ended. But all this became possible when I emptied my heart and went forward. I had kept my frame empty; there was nothing in it, it was empty. I have told you about this ceremony of getting darshan of the sun (Surya-darshan) because it is extremely simple. extremely straightforward, anyone can perform it. It can be performed free of cost, at any place, without anyone's help. In this ritual your race won't come in the way, your language will not intrude, your religion won't come in the way, your method of worship will not come in the way, and your country won't come in the way! You may be in any place; you may be in any corner of the world. Just try chanting the mantra for half an hour, 15 minutes before sunrise and 15 minutes after sunrise. Then see what anubhooti you . obtain after half an hour; just try it out! And after obtaining the anubhooti, you should make your friends experience it. Thus this mantra of Samarpan meditation is based on anubhooti. The soul liked it, you obtained inner joy, and you obtained self-satisfaction. The entire organization exists today on this anubhooti of the self, the whole technique of meditation exists and the anubhooti is accepted world-wide. It is accepted worldwide means that this chanting of the mantra has been accepted in several countries of the world, by several races, several religions, and people of different languages who don't even understand the language. I had chanted this mantra for the first time, on the high peak of a hill at Glastonbury in England. I chanted it with some sadhaks; only 4-5 sadhaks were present at the time. But about 8-10 Japanese tourists were just wandering around there, and whilst wandering they reached there and just sat there. They said, "We don't know what mantra you are chanting, but we liked it very much." Thus, just the chanting of the mantra creates an aura, an energy! The effect of the energy will be felt not only by you but also on the surrounding atmosphere. And you don't have to spend any money to obtain this inner-anubhooti; you just have to experience it. This is the contact between one soul and another! Thus we felt that the idea of 'the world as one family' cannot come true, but the way to get rid of all doubts, of all obstacles, is Samarpan meditation. This idea can take shape through the path of Samarpan meditation. There is only one Paramatma, only one Almighty, and He is omnipresent. I am not the only one saying it. Several saints, several noble and great men have done what they felt was right from time to time. For several years in the past, many saints have given their guidance from time to time in this karya. Each saint who reached that level had a desire that it should reach every human being. They wished that whatever they learnt should reach every human. Therefore, Sai Baba of Shirdi has stated the fact -all have one Master, there is one Paramatma, there is one Almighty. He had tried to give this message to his devotees. There was only one thing lacking and that was -a lack of anubhooti. Anubooti was not available at that time; the time was not right for anubhooti, it was not suitable for spiritual experience. That was the only thing which was lacking -anubhooti. Sadhaks are experiencing the same thing with anubhooti in present time. They are able to do so because this is the period of anubhooti, this is the time of anubhooti, this is the period of change; this is the time of transformation. And it can be experienced only during this period. The quintessence of all methods of worship and religions is encompassed in Samarpan meditation. All religions and all methods of worship say the same thing -do what is good and give up what is bad. There is only one purpose, everyone says the same thing -you should perform good karya and give up bad acts. But this is a society of intellectually developed people -didn't I say -it is a period of change; changes everywhere! So now the question that arises is ¬what is good and what is bad? The definition of good is also different, and the definition of bad is also different. What should one consider to be good and what should one consider to be bad? Someone calls one thing good and another person calls another thing good. One person calls one thing bad, and another person calls something else bad. Therefore the definition of what is good and bad also depends on the person whom you are asking. He can use his reasoning, his intellect to call anything good or call anything bad. Thus there is nothing external in it; one can't give up something or catch hold of something, because whatever is told, whatever is mentioned will be external, there is nothing inside it. There is no internal change; it is on the outside. Thus one can catch hold of something externally, and give it up externally too. And one who can give it up externally can also catch hold of it again. There is no internal change. But there is internal change in Samarpan meditation. Your soul is enlightened; and after your soul is enlightened, you become a self-controlled individual. After becoming a self-controlled person, your soul begins to control your body. Then your intellect drops away, and whatever good things you speak with your intellect also drop away. That is why I tell the sadhaks -you should not have discussions about what is good or what is bad. You should meditate and come under the control of your soul. Then after you come under the control of the soul, what is good will remain with you and what is bad will 'leave' you; you won't have to give it up! So why should we have discussions on what is good and what is bad? Imagine that I am seated inside a hall, and am holding a snake thinking that it is a rope. I am holding it thinking that it is a rope. Now the entire hall is in darkness; and you are calling out from outside, shouting at me -"Swamiji! You have caught hold of a snake, you are holding a snake!" But I won't believe what you are saying. I'll say, "No, no. What you are calling a snake is not a snake but a, rope." Then you'll say, "No, it's a snake." Both are deluded; I am calling it a rope and you are calling it a snake; and I don't believe what you are saying. No matter how much you shout, no matter how much you inform me externally, I won't let go of it. But if a sadhak from amongst them comes inside and lights up the hall by switching on the light, then you won't even have to tell me! I'll drop it instantly! Similarly, we are holding on to several wrong values, several bad things; and we hold onto them thinking that they are good. We are not aware that they are bad. We believe that they are good and our intellect gives us wonderful arguments -Hey! This is really very good! This means that we were holding onto several bad things, believing them to be good because there was a good packaging around it. We look at the external appearance. But if in reality it is good, it will stay with you; and if it is bad it will drop away from you. So why should we think today about what is good and what is bad? What is good will remain with you and what is bad will go away. You won't have to give it up. You won't have to give it up, you won't be told to give it up, and it will go away automatically. Thus Samarpan meditation is the only organization in the world in which the good enters and stays, and what is bad goes away. Therefore I invite each and every human in the world today that every human should come and experience this. And after experiencing it, they themselves will be able to arrive at a conclusion about what is good and what is bad; what one should do and what one shouldn't do. People in different countries have interpreted it in different ways. But after meditating, only the good things will stay with you and what is bad will go away. We are moving towards a new society together with a changing era. Thus people of different races, different religions, different countries, different languages, are coming into society with their good qualities, leaving behind their bad qualities. There are some good things in every race, in every religion, in every country, and there are some bad things. But after getting connected to meditation, the doors of meditation are open for everyone; and after taking up meditation, each sadhak's good qualities remain and his bad qualities drop away. They drop away slowly, slowly, very slowly. Thus an organization is being created aIl over the world in Samarpan meditation; an organization is being raised in which all the good qualities of the world are present. And we have to get connected to such a collectivity in which good qualities are present; an organization of good souls, a collectivity of good souls. I had spoken yesterday about Gurupujan (worship of the Guru). Then some sadhaks thought -how can we accept the Guru as Paramatma? Actually if we think about it, we worship the Ganga; we perform puja of the river Ganga. We do so because hundreds and thousands of holy particles of water are flowing in that river, and we can't reach up to all the particles; we can't reach the particles that have flowed and gone ahead and we can't reach the particles that are still to flow (in the future). But we use a path to reach them; and the path is that we worship the Ganga that is flowing at our ghat (jetty, where we are present, of our time), so that we can get connected to the water of the Ganga that had gone ahead, and also to the water that will flow later. Similarly, Paramatma is omnipresent; Paramatma is present in each and every human being. But we can't reach the Paramatma in each and every human being. We have our limitations, so we can't reach every person. Therefore we select the medium, we make use of the medium who has reached up to every human; and in whose heart there is love for every individual, who has reached each and every person. We accept one such person as our Guru and worship Him. In reality, we worship humanity through Him; we worship Paramatma who is seated inside humans. All sadhaks come from different countries, from different races, from different religions! Some come with good qualities and some with bad qualities. The bad qualities drop away and the good qualities remain. I wish to give an example to all such sadhaks of the world, that your life should be like that of a lotus flower. You know the lotus flower, don't you? It stays in slime and mud. The stalk of the flower is embedded in the mud. It is connected there, but it doesn't break its relationship to it. It remains connected to the mud also. But despite that it rises above the mud; and after coming out, it blooms fully. When it blooms fully, not a single stain of the mud is visible on it. Thus your life also should be similar. It should be equally pure and holy. You may belong to any race or religion or country. It makes no difference where you have come from. But the influence of your surroundings, the effect of the bad values around you should not affect your soul. Develop your soul and come out of the mud and slime. The sun is waiting for the lotus to bloom, it is waiting! So bloom like the lotus and come out of the mud and slime. Several sadhaks in the world are wondering, they are thinking about how they can spread the message of Samarpan meditation in this age of technology, in this progressive age! How can Samarpan meditation be explained in this world full of intellectuals? So I am showing them only one way, only one path, that science will give you external knowledge, external information. You can reach up to the moon, you can reach up to the planet Mars; there are several experiments in the world which will show you the way to know the external world, how to know others, how to know the other countries, how to know other states (conditions), how to know the geographical state of others! Different scientific experiments are being carried out, various scientific inventions are beings made. But all those inventions are only to obtain external knowledge, not internal. They are meant to give knowledge about external things, to know others. Samarpan meditation is the only meditation technique in the world which inspires man; which inspires man to know more about his own self. As long as you don't know yourself, it is useless to know about the world; it is useless to have information about the world. Know yourself -and each human has a desire to know about himself -what are the good qualities I possess? What bad qualities do I have? Why am I successful? Why do I fail? Why do I get stressed? Why am I under tension? What kind of thoughts do I get? Do I get good thoughts? What are the bad thoughts I get? But there is no way to know all this. Science has no answers for all these questions. I often tell you that doctors study the physical body -the body which can be touched and known. But there is no study of the body of thoughts in medical science. One can't even say that the body of thoughts doesn't exist, as science has now proved that the body of thoughts exists. There is an aura of thoughts which is present in each and every human. Therefore you should make use of scientific instruments. You should experiment with the tools of science; and then mounted on the chariot of spirituality you should reach the path of Liberation. Today's Gurupoornima is exactly similar in the true sense of the term. Today through the medium of the Internet, all the (meditation) centres in the world, all the sadhaks are connected to this Gurupoornima. This Gurupoornima is not meant only for all of you. Don't think that only so many people are part of it. Several centres all over the world are watching the entire programme today through the medium of the Internet; they are watching a live telecast at this time, and they are with us at this time. Thus thousands of centres watched yesterday's programme through the use of science, through this scientific experiment, although I am not aware about today's relay. Make use of it, utilize it; make the instruments mediums and take their help to spread a good karya, to develop a good karya, to show people a good karya, to connect good people to it, to convey good thoughts. This is badly required at present. I often feel when I am in deep meditation that I have no peace -either here or there. So many SMSs keep on travelling above too; they keep going and coming; so many e-mails keep travelling ¬going and coming and going. Thoughts keep on travelling through the medium of satellites -coming and going. And 90% of the thoughts are bad. Thought pollution is present everywhere in the aura too, all over the sky. What is really required is good thoughts; what is needed is good programmes. For the first time sadhaks have experimented; for the first time sadhaks have made use of the medium of the satellite to show Gurupoornima celebrations to sadhaks all over the world, to create a collectivity in the world. That's why I said, didn't I, that today's Gurupoornima is a historic Poornima, in which all the sadhaks in the world have taken part; al\ the centres have joined it. Sadhaks are watching it at the centre; it is being watched all over the world! They may be of different colours, their race may be different, their religions may differ, and their countries may be different. But all of them have the same feelings. All the people have joined this Gurupoornima with the same feelings. Therefore we see that while science gives people knowledge of going outwards, Samarpan meditation gives man knowledge of how to go inwards. Both these are two extremes; and when that end is growing, it is necessary for this end to grow too. Both will have to grow simultaneously. Thus the need for Samarpan meditation that is being felt today was never felt so keenly earlier. The need for it was not felt because earlier such scientific instruments did not exist. Therefore it is necessary to know about both of them. It is necessary to know about what is inside, just as it is necessary to know about what is present outside. And if you obtain knowledge about the external world and don't know about yourself, then there is no other person who is as unfortunate as you. Samarpan meditation bestows you with the insight through which you can know what you are holding; what is good and what is bad. It manifests this knowledge inside you, and you will automatically realise what is good and what is bad after receiving this enlightenment. What is bad will leave you; you won't have to give it up! It will drop away completely. Therefore you should make use of scientific instruments, use them to perform good deeds; use them for a good purpose, use them to preach and spread good experiences. Use them for Guru-karya which has been left behind for you by Gurus. Spread that karya through this medium. Secondly, I wish to give a message to all the sadhaks and non-sadhaks in the world who are watching this Gurupoornima through the Internet. You have been searching for peace in the wrong direction. You have searched for world-peace in the wrong direction. You are moving in the wrong direction. There is nothing except useless wandering in that direction and you won't be able to obtain anything. You are searching for universal peace in books; you are studying numerous books and searching for Inner-peace. You are searching for universal peace! Universal peace can never be obtained through books. Books are lifeless and lifeless books can't give you inner-peace. It can prepare the way for inner-peace but it can't give inner-peace. And if you want anubhooti, the picture of a cow can't give you anubhooti. It can give you information about the picture, but you'll have to go to a living cow! Similarly, if you wish to bring about peace in the universe, if you wish that there should be peace in the world, you will have to begin this peace process with inner-peace. First you should be at peace, you should obtain inner-peace, only then can there be peace in the world. No book in the world can bestow peace on you. Therefore the direction in which you are searching for universal peace is the wrong direction. Universal peace is just not possible through books; it is not possible through weapons. Thus the other way for you is -weapons. You destroy humanity by making different kinds of weapons. But you can't obtain inner-peace; and you also won't be able to obtain it by killing humanity. Thus you can't obtain inner peace through books, you can't obtain inner-peace through weapons; inner-peace both these things are lifeless, aren't they? Weapons are lifeless and books are also lifeless! You can see today how scientists have made large atomic bombs, and after making the bombs now there are fears of security and safety, that they should not fall into the wrong hands. This is a new danger before us because the atom bombs have no knowledge of right and wrong. They can be used by whoever possesses them. No matter how many progressive weapons you develop -peace in the world will not be possible through them. If you want peace in the world, if you wish that an aura of the world should be formed; that the world should be formed like a family -a family in which all the members can live peacefully. They should be able to live with love, for everyone's welfare, and with security for everyone. I am not saying this today; I have come to know your feelings. The greatest problem faced by people today is the problem of security. No one can bestow security on anyone. No weapon can do it, no government can do it, and no security agency can do it. No one can give security. The question of safety and security is the biggest problem in the world today. Every individual feels insecure. Thus the question of security is a burning issue today; the question of safety is the biggest question in the world today -and the answer to this biggest question of security is -You are the only one who can keep yourself safe; no one else in the world can keep you safe. Look, for example, there is a stick. It's easy to break one single stick. You can break it with a snap! But if the same stick is with 200 other sticks, then it's difficult to break it; it's impossible. It just won't break! Similarly, as long as there is a feeling inside you of being alone-that I am alone; I have a separate identity -this feeling of insecurity will be present inside you. So, come along! Today I am inviting all the people in the world to join Samarpan meditation and obtain a protection of security, of protective armour. And I won't give you this protective armour; I can't give it (even if I want to). No one can give it to anyone. You yourself will obtain your protective armour; you will create your aura. You will create a secure world! You will create a benevolent world; you will create a peaceful world. There is no power in the world which can enter that world, no weapons can enter it. Nothing can enter it! No sickness can enter it, nothing can enter it. Every human should create such a world around himself. Then if every human creates such a universe around himself, it's possible that one day there will be peace in the entire universe and the world will benefit from it. My target is a little distant. My path is a little longer. But I have to complete this path in the next 800 years. It is an enormous goal. It will move slowly, slowly, slowly, very slowly, in that direction. The Guru always remains alive because of his karya. I am present today -I may not remain tomorrow. But tomorrow also I will be alive in the form of my karya; in the form of the mantra, in the form of collectivity in each one's heart. This karya has to be taken forward. The target has to be achieved in the next 800 years. Let an aura be created around all the people. Let every human possess such a benevolent universe which can be the beginning of universal peace; which can bestow peace on the entire universe. This year is being celebrated as 'Women's Year' and I know that women in different parts of the world will perform karya more actively this year. But there is a lack of organization. I want all of you to get organized and work unitedly, so that there is a dialogue around you, there is communication around you; there is love around you. I feel very good when a sadhak praises another sadhak; when one sadhak praises the good qualities in another sadhak, because (it indicates that) one sadhak is connected to another sadhak. There is an International problem related to the women's year. You may be a woman belonging to any country, any race, any religion , or any language! There is a sense of insecurity existing somewhere inside you. Somewhere inside there is a feeling that 'I am helpless, I am weak, I am insecure' -this feeling is present somewhere within you. When it receives a suitable atmosphere it begins to have control over you! This means that it has not left you completely; it is hidden somewhere inside, it is tiny, in a miniscule form. But it disturbs you as soon as it gets a suitable atmosphere. Then you begin to feel insecure. You begin to feel afraid, you begin to dread it. I wish to give a message to all such women in the world – where ever you are-remember what I'm saying -whenever you feel that you are alone, whenever you feel insecure, shut your eyes and chant the Guru-mantra thrice; and you'll find that I am with you. I am not alone. When I will come to you, when I am present with you, you'll experience that a collectivity of millions of sadhaks is present with me. Then you won't feel that you are alone. The self-confidence will be awakened in you that -I am not alone! I am with Swamiji; there is a collectivity of millions of sadhaks with Swamiji. This feeling of insecurity affects your karya. Actually you are not insecure but somewhere -either due to your upbringing and values, due to the traditions of your family, this excuse has developed inside you somewhere or the other. It's tiny, in miniscule size, just this much! But even this much feeling envelops your entire identity and you begin to feel insecure. Therefore today -I am asking the women for Guru-dakshina (gift or offering to the Guru) that they should hand over their loneliness to me. From today onwards, don't ever feel that you are alone! Today's Gurupoornima is the mothers Poornima with your 'Mother'. It is the worship of the mother in the mother's proximity. I too am the 'Mother' of your soul. One is the mother who gives birth to the physical body, and one mother gives birth to the soul. That's why from today onwards, not from today but from this very moment, women should surrender their feelings of insecurity; the feeling that 'I am alone' as Guru-dakshina during this very Gurupoornima. You are creating hurdles in my karya due to this feeling of yours, because when you become insecure a lot of my time is wasted in trying to balance you, to bring you back to the level. This pains me -why does she feel alone when I am with her? Therefore during this Gurupoornima all sadhaks should surrender their feeling of being alone in the form of Guru-dakshina. You get bored when you are alone due to that feeling of aloneness. You need Television for entertainment, you need a tape-recorder; you need songs because you feel that you are alone. There is no need to take any breaths from outside. This is a good opportunity to move inwards. Don't get bored whenever you find that you are on your own; don't take the support of any tools or instruments. Take your chitta inwards, take your chitta within. And as soon as you close your eyes you will realise that I am inside you; I am near you. Talk to me, have lots of conversations with me. Then there won't be any need to seek outside, to wander outside, or to search outside. You will receive the experience that -'I have acquired everything after obtaining you'. Make use of the period when you are alone, of being alone for introspection. Use it to stay with your soul; for inner-anubhooti. Use it to obtain inner-knowledge; and always remember -one doesn't obtain everything at the same time in life. There is a plus (+) in one's life and there is a minus (-) in one's life. And when the minus becomes plus, then the plus becomes minus. If you get free time in your life at any time, due to any reason, you are extremely fortunate that you got the free time. Therefore you should use the free time to know yourself, to meditate, to reflect; and if you don't get it then find time out of this short life! It is very essential to find some time for yourself; it is necessary to take out some free time for yourself. Find the time, sit in isolation. There should not be anyone with you. It isn't as if I am telling you about it. I too had gone and stayed alone in the cottage at the Ashram for 4-5 days before Gurupoornima. I didn't go out, I didn't go anywhere. I stayed in isolation. Guru's Grace continues to be showered in isolation. Experience it. I have experienced it, you should also experience it. Thus you should make use of your aloneness; and if you don't have it, then find it. Find some time for yourself. The purpose of meditation is not relaxation. For example, we often get very tired after performing some task, or due to a busy schedule. Relax on some day, that is, the physical body needs to take rest on some day. If you take rest on some day, relax on some day, you feel refreshed. But you should not similarly make use of meditation to release your physical and mental tensions. If you use meditation for such small things then you'll receive only that much in return. The final goal of meditation is to obtain liberation, moksha. You will relax automatically after obtaining it. Oh my dear! The reason for all the stress and tension is attachments. All the tension will vanish once you are detached from everything. To achieve moksha does not mean one has to die. To die whilst one is living is 'moksha'; it means that one is alive, one is living, but is detached from everything; one is disconnected. One is happy and engrossed in himself, and is living happily. He is settled, settled and enjoying life. He has settled with his soul. You are never alone. I am always with you. The only thing is that you will become aware of me only when you are in solitude. I knock on every sadhak's door every day; I keep pounding on it. But it rarely happens that I find the door open. The sadhak keeps so busy, so occupied, that he is just not aware of it. Do go inwards sometimes! Do look inside -what movements are taking place inside, what experiences you are getting inside! If you ever get even a little anubhooti inside, you should immediately stop whatever you are doing and go into isolation. The fact that you are getting anubhooti means that Swamiji is knocking on your door. Leave everything and catch hold of the anubhooti, because it rarely happens that I come to your door and find it open. Perform all your tasks, I am not against karya. You don't have to sit idle, but you have to remain inside and perform the karya outside. Take the example of the kite (hawk). It flies in the sky; it flies very high and yet its attention -no matter where it flies –is always on its babies; on who has come close to its nest, who has come near it -it keeps complete watch over it. Similarly, you may go to any corner of the world, my attention will definitely and unfailingly be on you. It's always on you. You feel that I'm near you; you feel that I'm away from you. I am nowhere; it is you who continue to be near or far from me. Sometimes you are near and sometimes you are far. Yes, it's true that when you are faced with problems, if you are in trouble, then your door remains open all the time. It happens, doesn't it? When you have any problem, when you are in trouble, you immediately open the door-doors, windows -you open everything! So are you waiting for problems to arrive? You'll open your doors and windows only when the problem arrives! Hey! Don't open the doors and windows! Break them down! (As the saying goes) -If there's no bamboo, there won't be any flute (music)! Then there won't be any need to open doors and windows! I will always find the door open, I will always remain happy. I will always be joyful and will be able to enter your heart at any time. You keep on receiving anubhooti inside you. It always keeps on informing you, giving indications. But you ignore those indications; you don't pay attention to them I don't have time now, I'll look into it later. Then you are busy running here and there. It tries to stop you from going somewhere -Stop! Stop! But you are not aware of it. What you do is that you buy a train ticket for the wrong train; you want to get the full benefit from it. So you want to go right up to the last stop and return. Then you reach there and realise that you have come to the wrong place and so you return. I keep on telling you right from the beginning -my dear! It's the wrong ticket! You are sitting in the wrong train. But you don't listen and you say -I have bought the ticket; let me get the full value for it; let me get the value for it. Then you use it, and like a fool you buy another ticket and return! So did you save any money? Did you save any time? Did you save any energy? Therefore you should look inside yourself and listen to the message you receive. Listen to what Swamjji is saying, to what he's telling you; to what he's trying to tell you. Why you should not go there; why he's stopping you! Just think! Follow the inner indication; pay attention to it. Don't neglect it. Don't go forward after setting it aside. But I keep watching the entire pageantry (tamasha) because there's nothing else I can do. Therefore you should hand over the loneliness during this Gurupoornima as Guru-dakshina; surrender the 'I'; surrender your ego. Look! You will feel lonely only if the ego and 'I' sense is present. If there is no ego inside you at all, there is no feeling of 'I', then it means you have surrendered completely. You have no identity of your own. If you have no separate identity, you have no separate fear, no separate dread. There is no separate aloneness. You may be seated in isolation; you may be sitting alone, but you won't feel that you are alone. You will feel ... yes, I'm enjoying the Gurupoornima celebrations; because wherever the Guru is present -it's Gurupoornima!! You will experience the Guru's proximity. Therefore all the sadhaks should surrender their loneliness during this Gurupoornima. Give up your 'I'. Then from today onwards they'll never feel that they are alone, that they are weak, they are helpless. Now you should develop self-confidence in yourself that you will be able to do whatever you wish. You can change the entire world if you wish! Hey! I am your slave. I'll have to fulfill whatever you desire, won't I? But you don't have any desire at all. You are so miserly and only have this much, tiny, tiny wishes. Then you make that much, small, small comparisons. There is a saying -extend your feet only as far as the size of the blanket. But this saying is reversed in my case. I say -first extend your feet and I'll spread the blanket over you. So extend it as far as you wish and don't worry about where the blanket will come from. Our father is preparing the blanket above us! Thus you should be aware of who is present with you, in whose proximity you are present. You will receive that awareness when you begin to look inside; when you obtain the inner anubhooti, when you obtain the inner experience; when you obtain the inner awareness; So find a little time for yourself, and from today onwards don't think that you are alone. Surrender your 'I' to me today as Guru-dakshina. With this pure wish, Namaskar!
