I never felt any sense of respect for Gurus. In fact I used to abuse them. But when I read the announcement in the newspaper about Samarpan meditation I went to the shibir out of curiosity with my wife. I wanted to attend only for one day, but I was so impressed by Swamiji that I remained stuck there like an insect sticks to molasses (jaggery). I grew restless and wanted to attend the shibir everyday. I attended for six days continuously and on the seventh day I had to go for my niece’s birthday party. I felt very bad but I couldn’t avoid it; and on the same day I received a phone call for a meeting the next day with a Dignitary of the Goa Government which I had to attend. I was very angry as I would be missing the concluding day of the shibir and told my wife that I would reach the shibir after the meeting. I was very tense but the next morning I jumped with joy when I received another call informing me that the meeting had been cancelled. I attended the shibir with my wife and children and for the first time I went into deep meditation. I have no words to describe the amazing experience. Ganesh V. Gavas
